Besides reducing flood in the capital, the Ciliwung River normalization is able to increase land prices in surrounding areas, such as Kampung Pulo area, East Jakarta.

As you know the current land price is already Rp 20 million per meter

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama disclosed, after being relocated and normalized, the land prices in Kampung Pulo is approximately Rp 20 million per square meters.

Basuki added, Kampung Pulo citizens are supporting Ciliwung River normalization that carried out by Jakarta Provincial Government and Public Works and public Housing Ministry.

"Just ask them, they prefer to Ciliwung Merdeka or normalization, surely normalization. As you know the current land price is already Rp 20 million per meter," he uttered, at City Hall, Wednesday (9/28). 

It is because of the flooding that had often struck already be resolved. Normalization is not only widening the river, but also make inspection road.

Previously he had received a concept that offered by Ciliwung Merdeka for arranging Kampung Pulo. But they could not meet the requirement, give agreement proof of citizens who were willing to sell lands for development.

"I ask them, did you want design like this? Okay, I'll do that using additional contribution from the developer. But they couldn't get the landowner's power of attorney. In fact, they cannot afford," he finished.
